EC135 Lithium Battery Upgrade receives EASA approval
An EASA-approved lithium battery upgrade for the EC135 is now available as a complete installation kit from Heli Werk.
Replacing conventional NiCd batteries with a TB30 or TB40 lithium-ion battery system, the solution provides up to 19.8 kg weight reduction and up to 15 Ah additional capacity, depending on the existing configuration.
On-condition operation eliminates the need for scheduled battery overhauls, reducing battery-related maintenance requirements and aircraft downtime.
Approval covers all EC135 models, including Helionix-equipped aircraft.
Realised in cooperation with the Heli Austria Development Organisation, the project is approved under EASA STC 10090942, held by Heli Austria GmbH. Heli Werk supplies the complete upgrade kit, including the selected battery system, installation components and applicable STC documentation.
